Loss of power (loss of acceleration)

Engine performance depends in many respects on the operation and condition of various engine systems and mechanisms: ignition system, fuel system, valve timing, parts of the cylinder-piston group, intake and exhaust pipes.

Main reasons for loss of performance:

  1. Reasons related to the condition of the ignition system:
    • Malfunctions of the engine control (ignition too early/too late, malfunctions in signaling to open the injectors, etc.),
    • Condition (breakdown of protective flaps) of the high-voltage cables or -do the washing up,
    • wrong spark plug heat value,
    • Penetration of moisture to the contact points of high-voltage cables and system elements.

    Eliminate malfunctions in the engine control system, adjust engine timing, change damaged elements, install suitable candles. Dehumidification, cleaning of contact points of the ignition system: Verylube contact point cleaner with dehumidifying effect.

  2. With the operation and condition of the fuel system or reasons related to inlet and outlet lines:
    • Contamination of fuel filter, fuel lines, injection nozzles.

      Cleaning the fuel system:

    • Contamination of the air filter or reduction in the flow capacity of the engine intake air duct (extensive carbon deposits and resin deposits on line elements, restrictive throttle valve).
      • Changing the air filter
      • Cleaning the elements of the inlet line
      • mechanical damage of reloading elements
      • deficient fuel, fuel with improper octane/cetane rating

        To eliminate the consequences of poor quality fuel and improve fuel properties, add the appropriate additives to the fuel:

        In order to reduce the freezing threshold of diesel fuel, please add the following agents to the fuel:

      • Loss of power of the fuel pump

        Protection and compensation against wear and tear of fuel pump elements and fuel system assemblies and aggregates

      • Catalyst/particulate filter is clogged

        Catalyst / particle filter is to be cleaned or changed by the method recommended by the manufacturer of the technology.   3. Reasons related to the condition of components of the cylinder-piston group and control device
    • Reduction in compression pressure due to worn piston rings

      - if the piston rings are not critically worn, the engine can be XADO Gel-Revitalizant® for engines*, XADO EX120 Revitalizant® for engines*, XADO 1 Stage Revitalizant® or XADO Atomic Metal Conditioner Maximum process according to the instructions for use.

      - if the piston rings are critically worn, while the geometry (diameter, oval) of the cylinder does not exceed the parameters of critical wear, it is imperative to change the piston rings. For better running-in of new piston rings, it is useful when assembling the engine XADO Gel-Revitalizant® for cylinders applied by applying the gel to the working surface of the cylinder (area of contact with piston rings) and then performing 15-20 piston strokes. Then reassemble the engine.

    • Compression pressure reduction due to coked piston rings, excessive coke deposits on piston and combustion chamber surfaces.

      To free the coked piston rings, use Verylube Anticarbon, quick-acting agent to free the coked piston rings, for both petrol and diesel engines. The agent should be added directly to the engine cylinder. After removing coking with Verylube Anticarbon Engines it is necessary to change the oil.     • improper condition of valves (wear of valve stems and guide bushes, disruption of the geometrical seating of valves in the seats, burnout, etc.), wear or failure of parts of the control device drive.
